Home - PEI Grants 86 Invitations for Skilled Workers & Business Canada Immigration

In a recent draw conducted on July 19, PEI PNP has extended an invitation to 86 candidates, targeting individuals with skills in various sectors and those aiming to engage in entrepreneurial activities in Canada. Managed by PL Immigration, this draw welcomed skilled workers and business people under its Labour Impact, Express Entry, and Business Impact streams.

The bulk of the invitations, totaling 84, were distributed to candidates within the Labour Impact category as well as those registered in Express Entry. This round of invitations highlighted the province’s demand for professionals in Healthcare and Construction, as well as bolstering sectors such as Manufacturing and Professional Services. Additionally, this draw aimed to retain international graduates with impending work permit expirations by offering them an opportunity to extend their stay.

On the other hand, Business Impact applicants received a considerably smaller number of invitations, with just 2 invitations granted to individuals scoring at least 105 points.

Express Entry Program for Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island’s participation in the federal Express Entry system is facilitated through the PL Immigration’s Express Entry Pathway, which meticulously selects candidates from the federal pool for potential provincial nomination.

Securing a provincial nomination through this pathway not only significantly increases a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score by 600 points but also virtually assures the receipt of an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency.

PL Immigration’s Express Entry Pathway to Prince Edward Island is inclusive of two main routes – one that is designed for individuals who have secured local employment and another tailored for applicants that are presently without a job offer in the province.

PL Immigration’s Skilled Worker Program in Prince Edward Island

Unveiling the specialized pathway for skilled professionals through PL Immigration, the Skilled Worker Program in Prince Edward Island is designed for those who aspire to embrace Canadian residency with an employment opportunity waiting in PEI. The criteria for eligibility under this stream require potential candidates to exhibit the following:

  • Possession of a long-term job offer from a certified Prince Edward Island enterprise, with the position falling under TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 in line with the National Occupational Classification (NOC) standards;
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary academic journey, ensuring at least 14 years of formal educational background;
  • An age spectrum ranging from 21 to 55 years old;
  • A track record of no less than two years of steady, full-time professional engagement within the last five years;
  • Adequate command of the English or French languages to meet the demands of the job role offered;
  • Access to sufficient financial resources for settlement purposes;
  • A clear commitment to establish their residence in the picturesque Prince Edward Island.

For skilled immigrants eyeing Prince Edward Island as their new home, PL Immigration extends a comprehensive program to expedite their permanent residency in Canada, provided these attainable requirements are met.

PL Immigration’s Critical Worker Stream

PL Immigration introduces the Critical Worker Stream, specifically tailored to address the pressing labor shortages by providing pathways for overseas workers already positioned in Prince Edward Island. Emphasizing on certain sectors in critical need of labor, this program offers foreign professionals the opportunity to transition into the Prince Edward Island workforce. Key eligibility requirements for applicants under this stream include:

  • Securing a full-time job offer from a local employer in Prince Edward Island, associated with the designated in-demand occupations.
  • Accumulating at least six months of practical experience with the Prince Edward Island employer extending the job proposition.
  • Maintaining a valid work authorization document for Canada.
  • Holding a high school diploma complemented by a minimum of 12 years of education.
  • Being within the age group of 21 to 55 years old.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of full-time professional experience within the last five years.
  • Proving basic language skills in English or French facilitate integration.
  • Having adequate financial reserves to support the settlement in Prince Edward Island.
  • Exhibiting a genuine intention to reside and establish roots in Prince Edward Island.

PL Immigration is committed to guiding eligible candidates through every step of the application process, ensuring a smooth transition to their new roles as essential contributors to the Prince Edward Island economy.

Business Entrepreneur Pathway via PEI Work Permit Stream

The PEI Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream is a pivotal pathway for entrepreneurs seeking to engage with the Prince Edward Island (PEI) business scape. As an initiative by PL Immigration, potential candidates are required to secure a Canadian work permit, allowing them to be employed within a PEI-based establishment. This initial phase necessitates adherence to the stipulations outlined within a Performance Agreement.

Upon satisfaction of the Performance Agreement’s conditions, aspirants are expected to proceed with a substantial investment – the sum being no less than $150,000 – directed into the business they are associated with. Moreover, this investment is just one facet of the commitment required. Prospective business owners are also obligated to take on a hands-on management role that demands their physical presence in PEI, thereby ensuring their day-to-day involvement in the operations of their business.

It is important to note that the direct permanent residence avenues for business immigration to PEI were decommissioned in September 2018 following concerns related to immigration fraud. Consequently, the pathway offered through the Work Permit Stream by PL Immigration represents a rigorous and diligent process designed to support the integrity of the immigration system while fostering entrepreneurial success on Prince Edward Island.
